2012 has been a busy year for the Diablo Fire Safe Council, see the 2011-2012 Program Review. We look forward to continuing many of the projects into 2013.
We have successfully completed the Alameda County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP), added an Alameda County Supplement to the Best Management Practices Guidebook for Hazardous Fuel Treatments in Contra Costa County, and are moving ahead on implementation projects. We plan on updating the Alameda County CWPP and the Contra Costa Community Wildfire Plan on an annual basis. If you have an idea for a project in your neighborhood get in touch to add it to the list. |
We have received funding for the South Oakland Hills Community Hazardous Fuel Reduction project. Watch this website for updates as that project progresses.
We are seeking funding to continue our popular community defensible space fuel reduction projects. During 2010-2011 DFSC was able to fund 20 projects. Together, neighbors treated over 101 acres with project funding of $93,735, matched by $114,876, working adjacent to 306 homes and protecting over 5,635 community members. Need some ideas on how you might develop a project for your neighborhood?
How did you do that? |
