Fire doesn't recognize city limits or county lines. The 1991 "Tunnel Fire" crossed from Oakland into Berkeley as easily as it jumped a eight-lane freeway. Fire does not know there's a property line between your home and your neighbor's. It's never somebody else's fire; it's always potentially your fire.

So, after making sure your home is firesafe, check with your neighbors about possible fire problems crossing property lines. If you think you need outside resources to achieve fire safety, it's time to contact DFSC.
