Firefighters will raise red flags at fire stations in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties to warn residents of extreme fire weather, as warnings are issued by the National Weather Service. These Red Flags, created by the Diablo FireSafe Council, are part of the effort to make homes and communities safer from wildland fire. (more)

Our RED FLAG program has designed and provided 200 flags to the following Fire Departments in Alameda and Contra Costa County:
- East Bay Regional Parks Fire Department
- EBMUD
- University of California, Berkeley
- Moraga-Orinda Fire District
- Fed-Fire, Concord
- Contra Costa County Fire Protection District
- East Contra Costa Fire
- Rodeo Hercules Fire District
- El Cerrito Fire Department
- Pinole Fire Department
- Crockett Carquinez Fire Department
- CAL FIRE
- Oakland Fire Department
- Berkeley Fire Department
We are looking forward to increased participation from more Fire Departments and Districts as this program expands.
