SPOTLIGHT: Partnership Success in Kensington

The Diablo Firesafe Council has been working with communities in Kensington to clear wildfire fuels. The project behind Kensington Hilltop School was just completed with $3,000 in cost-matching funds provided by DFSC. Coyote brush and a large storm-damaged tree had created a significant fire risk, but chipping and clearing will be finished this week.

Goats are coming next! East Bay Regional Parks is arranging to get everyone’s favorite debris devourers started there later this month. You can visit their site to learn more about grazing for fuel reduction.

Funds are available to help your community too. If you have a community fuel-reduction project that requires professional services, Diablo Firesafe Council is ready to share the cost. Get information and applications at www.DiabloFiresafe.org.

The Town Hall will be held 10:00 am to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17 at Pinole City Hall Council Chambers 2131 Pear Street, Pinole.

If you can’t make it in person, the event will be broadcast on CCTV and available the next day on Facebook.
